The Bone Rattler!

The incredible thing about journeys are the huge amounts of changes which take place in such a short space of time. The journey of life to me is often like a never ending day at a theme park, the choices we make, the rides we encounter, the feelings, thrills, the highs the lows! And the longer we're there the wiser we become and the more prepared we are for what each ride will have in store for us!

About ten years ago we went on a family holiday to Disney Land Florida, our children were only babies and we jumped at any opportunity to ride the roller coasters wanting to re-live the thrill of being young and free again even if it was short lived!
But ten years later the one roller coaster I have the most vivid memories of was what we renamed The Bone Rattler! It was the most rickerty, uncomfortable, bone shaking ride ever and we were lucky to come off it alive! We were holding onto each other for dear life, praying for the ride to just end!!

The past 8 years have been the most beautiful and most challenging yet with 2015 being one of the toughest. 8 years ago we began our journey into the world of festivals with the words of Jesus ringing in our ears, "If you want to be great in God's Kingdom, learn to be a servant of all".
So we went to serve all creatures great and small namely those lost in a world of utter chaos. (More on this another time!)

To be honest we didn't realise this journey was going to be a Bone Rattler, probably the toughest we'd ever encountered, thankfully Jesus was holding so tightly onto us that we've lived to tell the tales thus far!
I think the point of what I'm saying is that even though we go through really tough situations, these are the times when we rely so much on Jesus, we really NEED Him, and if it wasn't for him then we may not have made it. These Bone Rattling times stick in our memories so clearly for such a long time not just because they were so so bad but because He was so so GOOD!
